We are writing to extend a warm welcome to you. As you may be aware, Sampson Fielding recently completed the acquisition of Blythe & Co. We are thrilled to officially welcome you to our firm.
Please find below a letter from Jonathan Blythe to learn more about the latest changes at Blythe and Co. and to meet Ben Sampson & Elliot Fielding.
A note from Jon
I founded Blythe & Co on 1 September 1987 - nearly 37 years ago.
I have been in talks with Ben Sampson and Elliot Fielding for a little while. They are both less than half of my age and they run a firm of Chartered Accountants - Sampson Fielding Limited. We have known them both on a personal and professional basis for many years.
Ben and Elliot have made an offer to purchase Blythe & Co that I have accepted.
I haven’t sold a practice before and they haven’t bought one so please bear with us as we integrate! It is my intention to ease the transition whilst gradually cutting back over (say) two and a half years (by which time I will be 70!). The Blythe & Co staff will also continue indefinitely – as they see fit. In this post transaction period we will all be employees of Sampson Fielding Limited.
The transaction took place on 8 April 2024. Accordingly you will shortly be asked for your formal permission for us to share your Personal Data with Sampson Fielding Limited and thereafter you will be contacted by them with a welcome, a fresh Letter of Engagement and HMRC authority.
We are committed to this amalgamation and we really hope it works for you.

We would like to reiterate Jon’s comment from previous communications that he and the whole team will be continuing indefinitely. This, along with our strong working relationship with the whole Blythe & Co. team gained from sharing their office for 18 months, we believe should help ensure the transition goes as smoothly as possible.
